Hello,
Thank you for taking the time to learn more about me. My name is Diana Schwendener and this is a small collection of relevant information of my life. I am currently doing my PhD in Molecular Science at Ryerson University, located in the heart of Toronto. I am the current President of the Molecular Science Course Union as well as a Student Member of the Department of Chemistry & Biology Research and Graduate Studies Committee. I have previously completed an MSc in Molecular Science and a BSc degree in Biology-Biophysics, both at Ryerson University.
I have completed and defended my MSc thesis, as well as taken part in over 6 years of research in various disciplines (mathematical modelling, virology, medical physics, etc.) at Ryerson University, Canada and Heidelberg University, Germany. To date, I have over 1000 hours of in-lab experience, and I continue to develop essential laboratory skills as well as critial problem solving skills, which will allow me to easily transition into professional work.
I am fluent in English and Spanish, and skilled in digital illustration. I have been published in a poetry anthology, and currently, I am involved in publishing a paper to a scientific journal. As exemplified by my wide range of abilities, I am creative, and yet, a critical thinker, I believe I can be an asset in many roles. I am looking forward to furthering my education and skills. If you are interested in contacting me further regarding research or otherwise, I would be delighted to be contacted at dschwend@ryerson.ca
Thank you kindly,
Diana Schwendener Forkel
